Charge Controller -
Charge Controller is a very critical component in the entire System. This unit regulates both the
Generation and Storage of the energy as also discharge of the energy from the storage device. The
charge controller protects the battery from over charging, which leads to water loss and
decreased battery life. The charge controller is an inexpensive device used for preventing
accidental damage to the expensive batteries. USE of MPPT Technology in some models of CC helps
in deriving peak energy from the panel. Operational faults like over charging, deep discharge,
short circuit, over voltage etc. are all monitored and activated by this Micro processor based
charge controller . The CC is integrated with the luminaire in the case of Lantern and Street Light.
whereas it has to be integrated in the case of CFL based Home Lighting System.
